Emily:
The lighting is gorgeous, how early did you get up that day?
This was an all day affair. We woke up around 6AM to get on a boat, and rode for about 2 hours to get there!
The rocks are so colorful and dynamic. Were they damp or really just that iridescent?!
I always tell people “that’s about the time the edible kicked in” hahaha but the truth is I always have loved stones. I didn’t realize this hike would be so full of them. I am pretty sure the friend that was with me thought I was an absolute nut case running around taking pictures of… rocks. I just went on a rant. Anyhow, mostly they were that iridescent! Insane, right?!
The scenery changes so much throughout this series! How long were you hiking for?
So we took a boat there, then we hopped in a car and drove for another hour to the top of the mountain. The hike down was about 6 hours. You would go through one pass and it would be orange rocks and then a minute later you’re walking into black rocks then another minute later you’re in a green field with flowers. It was absolutely insane how many scenic areas were in that one hike. I would just sit there and think, “HOLY SHIT. IS THIS REAL LIFE?”
